OP - Just curious but why would you prefer a spotting scope to a Bullseye camera system. I've seen this in operation and regardless of the weather, you can see your bullet holes at 1000 yds. and it only costs a fraction (25%) of good glass.
I've asked the question before and some folks use their spotting scopes for hunting or bird watching and while I can see this I have a hard time justifying spotting scopes for target use anymore.
I don't think I stated a preference of spotting scope over camera system: If I did, no doubt I was "out to lunch" that moment. I've added a camera system to my list of considerations to the extent of constructing a system. I can't remember the CGN user who built his own, but I do have an old camera and tv sets laying around, which would necessitate the purchase of only the transmitter/receiver. Furthermore, additional cameras at different ranges could be set up (if various target distances are shot) - something I'm not sure would be compatible with a commercial system. This would work for the long distances, so I am contemplating an optic as well for shorter ranges.
I appreciate the additional responses!
