[/IMG]Last year at Anticosti, i had to pass on a huge buck cause, it was out of reach of my 44 mag, this year i just decided to put together a rifle very light ( 6 lbs and 3 ounces with a TR-25 and 5 rounds ) and able to reach at 150 metres easy ( buck was far on the beach, usually we dont get to shoot so far)...
The answer came as a Scout Steyr 308 with a Bushnell TR-25 (red dot) and a very good hunting round Nosler Trophy Accubonds 165 gr...
Took 3 rounds to zero the TR-25 @ 100 metres ( this is one of the best red dot... Period )... Did load my 2 mags and proceeded over the bags to try the best shooting i could... Light rifle, great red dot, powerfull accurate rounds.... And around MOA, took less than 20 rounds to get.... Ready.... JP.

Very nice.

Methinks I need one of those red dots.

Would not put one on a war rifle but for hunting, it is very sturdy and talk about a weight reduction, from and 17 ounces 6500 1.25X8X32 to a 3 ounces TR-25, i will take time to order a couples more, good stuff, is always handy... JP.

3 ounces? Wow!

I also like the fact that it appears that one doesn't need to buy and fiddle with rings for them.

I have an older Bushnell trophy red dot and the rings it came with are too high for my needs... Pain in the a$$ to find lower replacements. It would be nice to be able to just drop to red dot right onto scope rail like yours.

So thanks for the heads up.

Early next week, my Scout Steyr 308 will be the next one to get a review, the Stey Mannlicher Luxus with both the 300 mag and 375 H&H barrel will be reviewed to... JP.
