Witness 1911 Problem

I had the same slide problem. I took the slide off, and using a ceramic stone, touched up the surfaces until it slid like butter.
I've read that a light trigger job combined with too heavy a trigger, or trigger over travel will cause the pistol to go full auto.KD

1911 Trigger

2 things to check:

1. Improperly altered sear angle to lighten trigger pull. If sear angle is correct then...

2. The disconnector is too short.

These are routine problems on competition 1911's. Take your's to someone who is doing 1911 builds and have them sort it out. Price should be reasonable.

first thing to check is the sear spring.
Your hammer is following.
Best advise is to take it to a GOOD pistolsmith if you are not 100% sure what to do.
Just my 2 cents
