Well guys, I had high hope for this rifle but unfortunately my first range session was a bust. I noticed I had issues with the gun cycling after about 50 rounds, thought that was odd as I should be getting more then that before I needed to clean. The I had issues with the gun cycling a round and locking up, was unable to fire pull the trigger even though the safety was off. Ended the range session and came home to clean it and behold I see a large chunk of metal missing bolt carrier group. The piece was bouncing around in my trigger group. Not impressed. We will now see how the warranty works and how fast they resolve this issue. Will keep my fellow gunners posted.

On a side note the rifle shot solid 1.75" groups with speer 52gr HP handloads, not too bad for my first loads.

Cheers!!

** Kodiak Defence took care of the problem within hours of getting my email. New BCG is enroute. *** Outstanding warranty and response to customer concerns.

Sorry that this happened, substandard cheap China steel nonetheless

Any other damage inside the receiver besides the chunk out of the BCG?

I don’t think I’ve seen one where the bcg failed like that, hopefully it’s just an isolated incident and no more are like that
I’ve heard that Kodiaks warranty is good so it should be covered

Hahaha and I just took one of these home. Well I suppose if a few people see this it should allow them to catch up on production finally...

I wonder if a person should just take that area back .010" or so ? Prevent it from slamming into the back of the reciever and stressing that part of the bolt?

Kodiak will take care of you.

My buddy's XCR had it's bolt carrier completely break in half. Then his friends XCR had an out of battery failure, Wolverine repaired both rifles.

So even a $2500.00 plus rifle has problems.

After I replaced my extractor spring my WK has been rock solid.

I suspect they will, Ive also had issues before with rifles costing much more.

Got an email first thing this morning stating that a new bolt carrier in enroute and an apology. I purchased the rifle knowing their may be some hiccups being it so new, I can live with small problems like this when the customer service is so good. Well done Kodiak Defence!!!

Just because they are big money doesn't mean they are good.

To the op im glad kodiak looked after you. They seem serious about getting this gun squared away. Hopefully the current/next batch has issues ironed out.
