I'm wanting to buy a WK-180C Gen 2 and build it as a dedicated 300yds and in coyote rifle. My goal is a consistent 1 MOA with a swap to a decent trigger, tailored handloads and possibly a barrel upgrade.
Suggestions on a 20-24" premium barrel with a medium weight that I can currently purchase in Canada? Is the gas system Carbine or mid -length on these Gen 2's?

Apologies if my terminology is off I am still in the learning stages when it pertains to semis.

from what i understand, the gen 2 is mid-length (vs the gen 1 which was carbine length). they all take ar15-style barrels, go get the right gas length and right diameter at the gas port (0.75") and you are good to go.

IBI is canadian and make some of the best barrels out there, but expect to pay. so much so that you might be better off just getting an hk sl8 with a 20" barrel and known good accuracy. otherwise rdsc seem to carry a good selection of in-stock ar15 barrels, but again big $.

My suggestion would be to first try a few hand loads in the factory barrel and see how they do. I handload for 3 different WK’s and they all shoot moa with the same easy loads. They really like 77gr SMK, and 69gr Barnes match burner projectiles. Hornady 75gr hpbt is around 1.25moa with very minimal load development. My experience is that these barrels shoot pretty well. The gen2 WK’s that I have seen still use a carbine length gas system, unless that has changed recently. An easy way to check is to measure the length of the gas piston. A stock Carbine length gas piston will be roughly 7 7/8” long, a mid length would be around 2inches longer than that, or around 9 7/8” long. I would also recommend going through the gun with a tube of locktite and torquing everything down correctly
