WK-180C piece of junk

I just recently purchased a wk-180C and was explained that the new ones are much better now. I did do some research and a few things need to be changed no big deal. can anyone tell me what would be a great optic for this rifle?

I have a Bushnell TRS-26 on my. It depends what you want to do with it.

I'm planning to add a magnifier.

I like keeping both eyes open and so I ended up getting a Vortex Strikefire 2 RDS.

Just for the rest of my rig, I bought an MLOK additional rail piece for the 3 o'clock position and mounted a Streamlight Protac HLX flashlight (1000 lumens), and then added an MLOK BCM Gunflighter grip under the handguard (my arms are like twigs). I have a brass deflector on order (eBay), as well as a charging handle from TNA.

I want to get a BCM Gunfighter too.

I’m at 0 with my WK-180 need to rig it up with all the goodies. A friend of mine showed me one of his guns it had a fore grip that with a push of a button opens up to a bipod with a flashlight in there. The one thing I don’t understand is that this WK has picatinny on top with mlock on the bottom. Not sure if I need an adapter or what to do there.

You have options. There is a MLOK picatinny rail extension you can buy. I have one mounted at 3 o'clock for a flashlight that is attached. I think the rail extension was $30.00 or so and my LGS special ordered it for me.

At 6 o'clock I have a BCM gunfighter grip that is connected directly with MLOK. If you need a picatinny there, you can get the same MLOK picatinny rail and then mount that grip/bipod/flashlight to the picatinny extension. I could have bought another extension to mount a Magpul grip that is picatinny compatible, but I just love my BCM Gunfighter grip on MLOK.

Owen is amazing. Kodiak has first rate customer support. Owen deserves more respect and appreciation. It's sad to see all the toxic comments. If you follow the warranty process, you will be taken care of.

Couldn't agree more, dude is seriously the best Customer service rep I have every dealt with... Across all purchases. He was very considerate and called me after sending me a prompt email reply, just to double check something. Somebody give that guy a raise!

I would buy a $2500 dollar own180 carbine, just because I knew that guy would have my back and the gun would have bullet proof warranty.

Hey Owen, if you see this, thanks for doing a good job, and ask for a raise

Thanks for the info that helps me lots.

what do you guys think of this addition to the magwell? i know its 3d printed :( but imo its looks a ton better?

Cheap Pr!ck here. I can't afford a 3k rifle.

Yeah, neither can a lot of people. But what you can do is research, save and plan. spend the time finding a decent offering and when you are ready and have your operations and support plan in place, make your purchases. I am a fan of "less is more" and carefully select my stuff based on my experience, the experience of others I trust and as much research as I can stand to find the right fit. Because of this I have managed to purchase a few premium firearms and am satisfied with my purchases and set ups.

To the topic, I have a couple of friends who purchased the WK-180s and so far, barring truly rough use, they have been pretty good little bang-sticks. If I was in the market (I'm not) I would probably swing by and pick one up and then rig it as a little truck gun.

The threaded handle is not ideal. It wiggles lose too. I was thinking of putting some blue loctite it.

Threading any violently reciprocating parts is typically unwise. There are ways to make the thread "reduced stress" but it's easier to employ other retention measures than it is to consistently and accurately round thread peaks and valleys...

I'm sure it's been said here before, but this thing is a piece of junk. Magazines sit too low. Feed angle is all wrong. Even the steel parts are as soft as aluminum. Charging handle broke off first range trip. Firing pin retainer broke on the second range trip.

You shouldn't have to charge your rifle and wonder if the round is actually going to make it all the way into battery.

Save yourself the time, money and dicking around. You can get an SKS and 3000 rounds of surplus ammo for the price of one of these.

Cool concept but a piece of junk.

Not sure how many rounds I’ve fired but nothing broke . My friend even fired 240 rounds back to back until the rifle got so hot he couldn’t hold it , he had 500 round to shoot and still nothing
