TL;DR - 2~4 moa, no surprise. The platform seems to have the potential to go down to 1~1.5 moa when properly setup for precision shooting.
Today I began working up a load for my wk180c. And I thought I would share the initial result here.
These are changed/added to my wk180c since delivery:
- bushnell 1-4x24 ffp scope installed with utg high rings
- random set of buis (not relevant for this test)
- triggertech combat trigger 5.5lb
- precision armament m4-72 muzzle brake
- magpul ctr stock for commercial tube (yes, wrong size)
For ammo I used remington brass, H335, and campro 55gr fmjbt projectile.
Groups:
I have to shoot groups at 50 yard because I can't aim precisely enough with the thick reticle from the 1-4 optic.
*Disclaimer*: load data shown in picture are for discussion only. Most likely they are meaningless for your gun and might hurt yourself. Don't copy them or don't hold me responsible if you do.
I also shot a group using 60 gr v-max projectile (load for my bolt gun).
My thoughts:
I called this a "practical" accuracy test, because I believe it represents what an average wk180c owner using average ammo for plinking will see.
Neither the parts I put on nor the projectiles are top shelf stuff. The triggertech trigger is good for intended use but heavy for precision work. A slim grip and loose stock definitely didn't help.
Further more, I rushed all shots as I only had an hour of daylight. I did not wait for the barrel to cool to a consistent level between shots.
On ammo, campro stuff never shot very well from my bolt gun (1.5~2moa), neither does H335. I use vmax with varget now and consistently produce sub-moa group from the same bolt gun (mossberg mvp). I feel like varget/vmax combination will produce even better groups than today's in the wk180c.
