Hey guys,

I think everyone knows what it’s like to look past red flags to get that rifle in your hands and rounds down range. Well I pre-ordered my WK through my local gun store and yesterday they called me saying someone backed out of their order. When I got to the store and looked at the box there was no documentation, the zip ties were cut and it only had ONE magazine (and NOT the HERA brand). When I Asked him about it, he said that’s how the box came from wolverine but threw in a pmag 5/30 off the shelf (which was nice).

However, I also purchased a sling and noticed that the ambidextrous sling ring that should be on the stock wasn’t there? He took one off of another rifle in the store which worked fine. I also noticed that the Charging Handle seems reallly loose (has the magnet).

Sorry for the long post but I just have a feeling that someone returned it because they were waiting for the next shipment due to a defect that I can’t identify on this rifle. Anyone else get rifle with no end plate (part: ar15-8004) and only one mag (no name generic)??

Maybe ask for a small discount to compensate for the minor deficiencies? If the rifle became available because someone backed out of their order why the missing and loose parts? It was obviously in someone's hands to remove and mess with things.

Yeah, I feel responsible because they allowed me to inspect rifle before I purchased. It’s ultimately my fault. I just wanted to confirm that Wolverine is only shipping TWO HERA mags and that this local gun shop is not the straight shooters to their “valued customers” they claim to be.

Sounds used to me..How can you inspect when nothing to compare it to..
Your dealer knew what was up.. he took you..

It’s just too bad that I have to equate SOME gun dealers to dishonest car salesmen. I’m an inexperienced new gun owner, and they knew that. I’ll just order direct from the supplier next time.

Pre order should mean new. Not sure how they define backing out of an order but it shouldn't be hard for them to compare an open box rifle to a new one off the shelf for contents. If not available than that info isn't hard to look up one way or another.

The time between receiving said rifle back and putting It back on the shelf, someone should have inspected the rifle and contents. Any discrepancy should be noted for this specific item.

Humans make errors and if they'd Havent offered a better explanation I would like to give companies the benefit of the doubt. Some things just don't add up though

Yeah. I’m just hoping that there’s nothing else missing that will effect reliability or accuracy. Main concern because I want to set it up for Coyote.

Wolverine has repeatedly said they ship with 2 Hera mags.

FWIW there is no manual in the box, it is available online.

There also should be a small ziplock with a few spare parts and a warranty card in the box.

Everything was wrapped in plastic and the receiver was zip tied on mine.

Note that I have an early rifle, the butt stock they ship with has changed since then. AFAIK it is like a 'generic' Magpul CTR which would be an upgrade over the original one.

Thanks for that post! I should have held out for an untouched product. Would have been worth the wait IMO. Would be nice to have that warranty card lol. I also asked the guy behind the desk.
Me: “Is there anything you could recommend me doing before firing rounds through?”
Him: “Not these day... just load, point, shoot”
Manual: “Do not fire without cleaning preservative oil from barrel... may cause death”

Fml. Lesson learned. Buy a new firearm.... consult manual, not people who don’t care about your gun.

The manual stating it should be cleaned of all oil is the manufacturer protecting his ass . It’s kinda like McDonald’s putting HOT on the coffee cup
