I'm no expert, but so far, I'm not amused. I know it's a rifle built at an affordable pricepoint, but I'm guessing scaling production and QA has become a challenge. I do like it very much, but I'm having second thoughts about keeping it. I may sell it and just get something more expensive but with less bugs. I've had the rifle for 2 weeks and taken it to the range twice, I followed break in to the T. Only a few annoying issues.
Access Backplate wouldn't work. Kodiak suggested tapping with hammer that got me it. They diligently sent a replacement backplate. Issue persisted. Burrs on upper part of receiver and guide rods had difficulty sliding through bolt. Burrs inside front bolt guide rod channel (forgive me if I use wrong terminology). Did not affect function, just made access for cleaning to require a hammer. Very eastern block. The trigger assemble is the worst I have ever used in my life. I changed it after first use and put in a mil spec ALG ACT. More expense, but more enjoyment. Grip is at an odd angle, but I will be switching that out for a Magpul and it's a mi or quirk. The other thing which does concern me is the receiver wear on a rifle that has less that 200 rounds and has been pampered out of the box. At this rate of wear, the upper receiver will habe a gaping crater by the time it reaches 1000 rounds. This is disappointing.

I had the same issue. I sent my rifle back to Kodiak and they polished down the guide rods as to allow them to fit better. That was the issue. I guess the upper receiver was slightly out of spec.

I emailed Kodiak. So far their customer service has been excellent. Let's see what they propose. I wouldn't be too happy if I have to shell out more money on a brand new rifle. I will keep everyone posted.

Well, gave to one of my WC180 for a little spin, went to the picnic table with 10 loaded MFT 10 rounds mags.

Did not have no issues operation wise, just the trigger is bad, i am shopping for a couple off replacement for both my WC180.

Overall it's a good shooting rifle and the mags were dropping free and engaging firmly, only mounted a cheap red dot for the occasion, after zeroing it in, accuracy was good,

The first one passed the test, in a couple of weeks i will test the other one.

I know they are seeing these posts...it would be nice too hear from them. Maybe someone even saying they should be doing something about it

They're not a business member on CGN, so they technically can't post about it here. They were answering questions with an account but they're no longer allowed to do so unless they pay.

Please do keep us posted Machiavellian100. I agree their customer service has been great but they told me it was only cosmetic which is bull. It’s carving into the upper clearly

It's a well known issue.
Mine was chewed up something BAD and only after like 500 rounds max (took a few range trips as mine was also a jam o matic with anything but the 5 rnd Hera mags they shipped with the rifle)
The gouging and peening in mine was bad enough I could see it from the outside of the receiver looking in ie the aluminum was peened and mangled so bad it had mashed the material up and deformed the track. I had to needle file it flush after a while.
####ing junk.
Sold it and bought a 200 chinese sks. No more beta tester for North American half baked, make a fast buck schemes for this guy...

That’s truly disappointing. It’s making me wonder if I should get rid of mine too. I’ve honestly had no other problems with ftf or fte or anything else for that matter. I bought a couple 10 round mags that also work very well but the fact that the receiver is being carved out by the bolt with no support from Kodiak D is horrible

Is it worth it to buy one of these? Looking for an honest answer/review

I'll probably piss many a person off with this statement but this is as unbiased and honest an answer as I can muster; maybe.
That's the problem though exactly with the WK180C IMHO.
Will you get a rifle that feeds from all mags? Maybe
Will your rifles gas block come loose/fall off? Maybe
Will your charging handle rapidly chew away the inside of your receiver? Maybe
Will the rifle have to be sent back once or more times for warranty (you pay the 40 bucks or more depending on distance to southern Ontario for this) to have any number of quality control machining hiccups fixed? Maybe
Will it have hard FTF and/or FTE? Maybe
Will it have a chamber cut way too tight? Maybe
Have all these bugs been worked out with "newer production" guns and will you get a "newer production" gun? Maybe

I rolled snake eyes on mine. I got first hand experience with the NEA 102 when that came out as well...
The gun has potential. I honestly see it being a great rifle IF they can produce one that works and produce it CONSISTENTLY. And no matter how much I want to like the gun, they can't seem to do that.
So I turned my back on it and went back to the good old SKS. Old faithful lol
Take that for what it's worth brother.

I will also be clear my rifle did NOT have the threaded charging handle (was not aware they attempted to fix the obvious problem)
It was the magnet type.
It must have been pretty prevalent an issue if they redesigned a physical retention development to rectify the issue.
Probably a little more than the "cosmetic" if it warranted this.

''Sold it and bought a 200 chinese sks. No more beta tester for North American half baked, make a fast buck schemes for this guy... "

Look like they'll make a few more $$ by selling their "upgrade" to the one who have been unlucky enough to buy from them...
What kind of business can see a problem with their product, upgrade to fix it and then tell the one who bough from them to go f### themself and "it's not a real problem"

Couldn’t agree more. I’m disgusted that they want to charge for the fix. This kind of bull#### is what will stop people from buying them and if hanr to say I wouldn’t have either
