These posts are killing me. Making me want to cancel and by a stag 10.... fml someone say something positive with regard to solutions or fixes. I had such high hope for the 180.

The Stag10 isn't without issues either...

I personally don't really care that my receiver is getting some wear marks on it. I run my bolt handle with a slick grease and it hasn't been a problem. And if I did have a problem, Kodiak Defense has proven many times again that they do take care of people when there real issues with their guns. So far though, the bolt handle has been a cosmetic issue that people have taken to a whole other level....

Honestly, when I took mine out for the first time and fired around 200 rounds through it with zero issues and amazing handling, it quickly became my new favorite of my collection. It is very well crafted, and Kodiak are amazing to deal with. My takedown is hindered just like Machiavellian100, by the guide rod plate being stuck. It was stuck because the guide rods are not properly fitting in the holes in the upper receiver, meaning the holes were not drilled out enough on that batch. Kodiak has been great about it and they have polished down my guide rods and I am waiting to receive the rifle back from them.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one with all I know now.

100 rounds is not that much but except the bad trigger I didn't notice nothing bad or meaningful to say about the rifle.

I have the new version with a treaded handle.

The bolt handle/receiver wear is NOT cosmetic at all! You can clearly see it carving out the aluminum.
You wouldn’t have many of these posts if they didn’t turn around and tell us to buy the new bolt and threaded handle. That’s what’s pissing us off! It’s completely understandable to have issues with a new model rifle. I was among the first to buy the Remington versamax in 2010. When it had its issues that people complained about and they made changes they sent everyone upgrades for free. All you had to do was ask. Even if it was years later. I was getting upgrades to match current production changes 4 years later

There are 600+ posts in this thread. If there are specific issues people feel needs to be addressed, maybe send an email to Wolverine/Kodiak and await feedback rather than keep posting the same gripe here. Just adds to the post count, but nothing else. I don't expect Wolverine to answer each and every one of the posts. I have been able to get to Kodiak and Wolverine for my issues fairly easily and the service has been nothing but stellar.

One thing is sure, you cant compare a WC180 to a KAC or a DD, they are a low investment NR black rifle that i find fine to shoot with a poor trigger.

I took my 1st one out a couple of weeks ago. Trigger was surprisingly bad and I got a FTE with no cleaning rod so I felt pretty sick on the way home. Went out yesterday with the same gun and another new one. Had a couple of failure to go into battery, and one FTE with the new one, and it seems to have a better trigger. I was hitting a 4" gong at 300 yds with vmax handloading.
I'm going to get our local Smith to do a trigger job on both, but I felt a lot better about the WK180 after my 2nd outing.

I agree with you 100% but the problem is they are telling us with the magnetic handle that it isn’t a problem when you can clearly see that it is.
This is only one section I zoomed in on.

I hear you. What I'm suggesting is that this may be a warranty issue to replace the upper with the damage and/or bolt carrier on a case by case basis. It does look significant, but I haven't seen a lot - I mean like a 100 or more people posting and reporting the same issue. Then there can be mutual agreement there is a serious flaw somewhere. If there are enough cases to warrant a serious redesign, maybe they will change it and replace it for the affected customers under warranty.

Some reporting not much slop no reciever wear some reporting alot of slop and wear maybe its an issue from ###x# to ###x#?

Honestly, I would hold out until they work out all the kinks. Issues are to be expected on a first production, but 2000 rifles in, this needs to be addressed. Kodiak so far has had excellent customer service. I'm waiting to hear from them to decide if I keep my WK or just unload it and buy something else. I'm not putting another round through mine until I know what's next. I don't want to damage it any more.

I definitely have no problem with my threaded bolt handle model... they updated it and fixed the issue. I think If the original part was smoothed out there should be no issues. That's like the first thing I do when I get a gun is de burr/polish things like that.

Waiting for my leupold x skeleton mount to arrive so I can mount my 1.5-5x20 vx3i but mounted up a crappy barska in rings that are to low and managed to fire this group at 100yards, dialed in the correction and just fired off 50 rds at steel targets, and it seemed to be quite consistent, no weird filters ect. Definitely more than enough accuracy for the limited effective range of the .5.56

I agree completely. That’s why I’m so surprised after seeing my pictures that they are telling me it’s only cosmetic. Clearly wearing out the receiver in my case

Got to shoot my second WK180 today 60 rounds no issue same bad trigger so far for me those Kodiac rifles don't seem to have problem except the trigger.

Both are with the threaded bolt carrier.

I will be looking to buy replacement like a Guiselle or else anyone with a suggestion for what trigger to drop in.

I put a Timney 3lb drop in trigger in one of my WK's and like it. It installed without having to mod anything to fit.

My other WK I simply polished the original trigger up and then installed a JP Enterprises reduced power trigger/hammer spring kit. It turned out quite nice. It's still not as good as a spendy trigger but it turned out MUCH better than any regular milspec trigger. A bit of time polishing and a $10.49 usd spring kit has IMHO turned out to be the best upgrade you can do yourself without dropping a bunch of cash.
