Just picked up my WK180 on Friday. Saturday morning myself and a friend whom purchased one had some fun sighting them in. 200 yards using PMC green tip 62 gr. Practical hobby. Hopefully can vaporize a few gophers once more are out.

Vortex Strikeforce 1-8 for an optic.

Any suggestions for other accessories are welcome.

If gen 1 replace the charging handle with aftermarket.

For either gen 1 or 2 Grab a TNA adjustable gas plug and brass bushing. Make sure you clean the gas system regularly. They like lots of lube too.. Enjoy.

Get an aftermarket trigger setup like a Hyperfire, makes a major difference for a reasonable price, less than $200.

Carefull with aftermarket charging handles, mine gouged the life out of my reciever.

I threw on the muzzle break from my BCL Bison, works like a charm.

Check every fastener and tighten up all the loose ones....

I have gen 1 and as per above I changed the charging handle, added the adjustable gas block (not sure if TNA still makes them or not) and put in an aftermarket trigger (ALG ACT in my case)
Note that cartridge style triggers might require you to grind a bit off the bolt catch lever for them to fit properly.

If Gen 1.5...

1. Tighten the gas block screws, loctiting them if possible
2. Tighten the handguard screws
3. Loctite the threaded charging handle - unless it was replaced by the HT one, it is not well designed and will always wind itself loose.

Oh ya, I forgot. Check the barrel, make sure it isn't loose. I have seen gen 1 as well as gen 2 examples with barrels that are not 100% tight.

i'm not a wk180 basher, but if you are truly living through a gopherpocalypse down there take a look at the savage a17. semi auto, very accurate if set-up properly, ammo is cheap, you can get 25-round mags, no recoil so follow-up shots are quick, and the 17 cal are mean little bullets out to 200 yards or so.

Lots of bashers for sure. Buddy has one with no issues whatsoever. I’ll definitely check out the a17. BIL has all Savage firearms and swears by them

- Stake that castle nut firmly or loctite it in place
- Careful with how much force you seat the magazine, it's very easy to over insert it
- If you're going to put an aftermarket trigger pack in (like a TriggerTech), I'd recommend anti walk trigger pins as these tend to fall out with use
- Buy a spare pack of springs and parts from WK. When it works, the rifle is accurate and a pleasure to shoot, but I've have a lot of failures with my Gen2 despite a significant amount of preventative maintenance put into it.

Get a hot pocket hand guard wrap for the forend. It will keep your hand protected from the gas and brass from the piston exhaust

I use horse bandage (that "self-velcro-ing" stuff) from the local co-op. It's cheap, comfortable and easy to replace.

I got my rifle on Sunday and took it out, I had seen videos of people complaining the gas ports were burning holes in their gloves, I had my hands all over it to see what the fuss was about. Shooting a mix of .223 and 5.56 without issues.
