WK180C a 10,000 round journey

Great thread, puts my mind at ease with my choice.
I waffled for months waiting for the MCR to restock but in the end, price point won out and I bought one from SFRC on the long weekend 15% off sale - looking for it to arrive this week

I can see a quality barrel on a Colt Canada or HK doing this....On a WK? The quality just isn't there.
The one I had printed 4-5" groups with bulk ammo and was brought down to around 2" with quality handloads. I know, a sample of one - but the cost cutting for these to meet the price point surely extended into the sourcing of the barrels...I'd say that yours is beyond the norm of expectation if it is performing as well as you claim.
 
I agree it's nice to have some positive threads about certain make/models' longevity. It is not just an encouragement to prospective buyers considering a WK, but also great assurance to some of us newer WK owners (I have only put about 400 rounds through mine but not a single problem so far - using Federal AE, PMC, and Winchester 55gr ball ammo). I am glad I purchased this rifle. Only change I have made to it is added the Lantac Dragon muzzle brake and a BCM front grip.

I honestly believe you got a lemon or another variable. The experience of the vast majority of WK owners is not reflective of yours.

I'm not disputing your experience or personal ability, but I haven't seen a single written review or video with evidenced targets where the accuracy was 4-5moa.
 
I doubt it was a lemon as it was very early production. The barrel was and are average.
Now, there is certainly differences in what people are willing to accept as far as accuracy goes, and no doubt there is a difference in what people define what that means to them.

For some, if the rifle prints an occasional 3 or 5 round group inside a toony, then its moa or 2 moa or whatever they believe that measures out as, and for others it just doesn't matter if one is blasting steel - minute of gong at 200-300m works just fine.

This was when the rifle was new and I never did a follow up, but the accuracy never got better.

But has the quality of the barrel improved with the profile change? I kinda doubt it.
For these to be regular, consistent, 2 moa with bulk fmj - especially after seeing 10 000 rounds through it?
Like I said, unbelievable.
 
I completed the manufacturers recommended barrel break in procedure yesterday on my new wk180 using handloads with 69 grain Lapua Scenar bullets. My last 5 round group at 100 yards was 1.39 inches. I didn't even develope a load. I simply loaded 1 grain under max for the break in procedure. This looks promising.
 
Is anyone here getting MOA or less?
I did my first load work up yesterday. Most of my groups were 1.5 to 1.75 moa. I had one .6 moa group and when I approached max load the groups became extra large.

Mine shoots consistently under 2moa with wolf 55gr. 4 power optic on bags.

Maybe 2500 through mine.
 
One of the vendors on the site is selling a limited edition WK variant with a steel upper; heavier, but I suspect that variant could last forever.
