Hi there, I have an opportunity to add an additional grip to my WK180C. I am trying to decide whether to add the longer 5" grip or the shorter 2-3" grip. I know that it may be personal decision and comfort, but given the fact that everything is final sale, I just want to get some thoughts. The reason I am looking for feedback is because I am planning to mount my flashlight in the final position of 3 o clock with the pressure pad around the 9 o clock position. I am not sure from a practical useability / functionality perspective if you have any suggestions on which grip would be more suitable. Rifle is being used for target practice. The extra grip would be for stability as I am not a big guy and I have twigs for arms. It would go under the handguard - would it be mounted more towards the front or in the middle? I know again - personal preference, but just wanted to get some insight on what you have tried - what works, may not work, etc. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

It all really comes down to personal preference and what is comfortable for you. But first you need to decide if you want vertical or angled. Some folk swear by the angled ones, but some find them awkward. I'm in the latter (except for on my SU-16 where the angled grip feels very natural). As for where along the handguard? Again, it's all up to personal preference. I find vertical grips to be more comfortable mounted closer to the action-end of the handguard; it allows for a more "rigid compact stance" for lack of a better term. As for angled grips, when I do use them, I prefer them mounted closer to the muzzle-end to allow for that increasingly popular straight-arm grip stance with carbines.

Haha, good question, the flashlight is just a cool accessory that the gun shop showed me and I just bought it as a "gadget" - particularly since it had a pressure pad and the light strobes. I am a sucker for a good salesperson showing me features of things. Heaven knows how many cars I have bought over the years with features I didn't need but just looked good and interesting for a technophile like me. I can't imagine when someone shows me the features of a Tesla live for the first time.

I don't mean have your foregrip canted off to the side, that would be awkward for stability. I mean the foregrip itself is designed at an angle (in the same direction as the handguard; usually at a 45°) as opposed to a straight 90° vertical grip. Here's some examples:

Oh - that's interesting - the first RVG one I have something very similar and it mounts on picatinny. The second one - I am glad you mentioned what angled actually means as my mind's eye thought totally something else (like it was mounted at 2 o clock and extended to 8 o clock). Cool thanks for the recommendation. I do not have naturally good balance, nor rock steady hands and arm muscles, so any stability assistance would be of much benefit. That sounds like a great product - I was thinking of getting a bipod whenever I decide to get out and zero in my new red dot sights - that combo product would be perfect for my needs (and is in step with my interest of all gadgety things).
I had a quick look, and what I saw were bipods and bipod adapters and retractable grips...I'll look more carefully tomorrow.
