Excuse me if thus has been answered already.

I'm lookung for a semi in 5.56 and have almost settled on 180c.

I've seen there is a new production run due for June?

Is this the third or second?

Ive seen a few problems with the 2/3 run such as stuck flash hiders, ejection port getting dinged up a lot, left hand charging handle getting beat up, hard to disassemble reciever.

Is this correct? I know Kodiak is great and thus doesnt deter me.

What I am getting at is, is it better to buy a used first round 180c or preorder the new one.

They appear to be the same price used vs new.

Thank you for your time,

Ram

The production run has been continual since the rifle launched last year. Other then the barrel being changed from .223 wylde to 5.56 nato there has been no other changes im aware of. I don't think it will make a real difference if you will buy a older one versus a newer one at this time.

They have been manufacturing them constantly since last summer, and have been continuously improving the design based on known warranty issues and customer feedback. I don't think its fair to say there is a set number of productions runs. From a configuration point of view there could possibly be a dozen different ones based on small minor changes over time.

Whats safe to say is that the higher the serial number, the better the firearm you will get. No matter what Kodiak has done an excellent job supporting this rifle. I don't think they thought for a second this product would be as successful as it was.

Not sure where they were at but at one point they had a back log of 3,000 orders to fill. So if you ordered new today, youd still have a wait. I waited almost a year for mine, and it was worth it.

Yesterday I got both of mine, I did strip them down both of them in a matter of minutes they were all in pieces on the table very easy to strip and look like quality stuff.
I didn't shoot them yet but for that kind of money it's a very good deal.
