WMU 318 Elk

I have been hunting/camping for a 8 days now in wmu 318 by bearberry. Finaly found a elk heard but people shooting at them from the road (i was set up on crown land on there path to the ranchers field they have been feeding on) have pushed them far. I have a late season cow elk tag and would appreciate any help. I have hiked 70km by foot so far and am not having any luck.
 
Elk seem to be pretty few and far between there, these days. Buddy's friend got a bull early on, north of 27, but that's about it. did a hunt on a property there. Lots of deer sign, but no elk. Gonna be a tough hunt.

Gather there was a prolonged burst of gunfire during last light yesterday evening. , my informant dubbed it the battle of Bunker Hill. :) Lot's of idiots tend to congregate there.

No such thing as a solo cow elk. :) Buddies probably not far away. Private land is the place to find them now, better knock on some doors.

Found the heard this morning on private land feeding. I was able to get permission to hunt it. The question is how early do i enter the field before legal light.

Tough one. with the super moon, they are very likely gonna be nocturnal, especially after being chased around for the last month.

We snuck in this morning and one of the bulls was buggling and then a coyote was causing a racket amd they all ran off. Just wondering if they will return to feed at all in that field

Yes. Once it is cold and they have a good source of food they will be back. The moon is so bright now it might be difficult to get into position. If you know which way they left the field last time try setting up so you have a shot there as they will most likely leave the field the same way again.
