Wmu56 screwed again!!!

Everyone in my group of 4-5 will get a antlerless tag. For sure.

We have all had them for the last 10+ or maybe 15+ years.
If some one in our group doesn't get a tag it is because they didn't apply.

That said, all we ever shoot is bucks.

Last year i saw 11 deer - 3 bucks (shot 1, could have shot 2) all the rest does and fawns
 
Well! As an addendum to my original post, I just heard from my hunting buddy. SUCCESS! He got a doe tag so we're 1 and 1. Given the number of does he's seen up there, our odds of putting meat on the table just got substantially better.
 
I have a camp in 56 and we see way more does/fawns than bucks but that’s always been the case. Most camp hunters don’t change up their tactics to hunt bucks, they do the same runs/watches, hunt the same times of day and fail to adapt. Bucks behave differently and require more effort. 56 has some huge bucks but they live deep in the swamps and thick stuff, they move mostly at night and they are extremely wary. Camp hunters as a whole aren’t generally the most diehard, out first, back last type of hunters. If you’re out wandering around at 11am, 9 out of 10 deer you’re going to see are does/fawns.

Personally, I don’t care if I shoot anything, I like getting out in the dark and trying to find them. Read the signs, move slowly and try and get close.
