Wolf ammo

Why is it that we can't buy that cheap wolf .223 ammo that they have down south? The prices are very appealing and even if it does not always go bang its good for stoppage drills.
 
That cartoon pic of the wolf does give me the 'heebie jeebies' you would think any ammunition cleared for sale in the US would have the green light for import to Canada, minus black talon variants, depleted uranium blah blah blah
 
From what I hear, the approval process for ammunition in Canada is the most bureaucratic one in the world, apparently a real nightmare to jump through all the hoops.

Stand by; Hirsch Precision, SFRC or Canada Ammo will be able to tell you more since that's thier bread and butter.
 
I emailed Wolf a couple of years ago to get info right from them.

They told me that their current markets, including the U.S.A, were eating up their product as fast as they could make it, and so they were in no rush to get into other markets just yet. They did tell me that they would likely be getting into Canada "at a later date".

Realistically, as long as other countries continue to buy their stuff as fast as they can make it, they aren't going to bother with us and our silly regulations. Which will likely be a very long while!
 
Every now and then a container of Wolf hits Norway. It's the steel cased lacquered stuff. It's alright, and doesn't gum anything up too badly, as long as the rifle is taken care of. If one of the importers manages to get ahold of some, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing
 
The Wolf brand of ammo may be cheaper than the rest but it becomes a real PIA to the ranges. At ours especially, the .223 and 7.62 ammo casings never seem to get picked up. They lay everywhere as they cannot be reloaded therefore of no value to the shooter. Thousands I have picked up to be able to walk on our shooting area and thousands more reappear , it seems overnight.

It is a total lack of courtesy on the shooters part when it stays where it lays. but if it was not available, the range would not look like a garbage dump.

I can say the same for surplus ammo. Sounds like you have a member problem not a cheap cartridge problem.

Do yourself and us a favour and ask them where they're getting their ammo. If we buy up all the source has to offer, you won't have much to worry about, will you? ;)
 
Canadian regulations aren't stopping other European brands of ammo from getting into the country, why should wolf be any different?
