Out of Kingston. I am thinking of placing an order for some 9mm with them. Has anyone here dealt with them? Are they decent?

Bought 500 rounds of 9mm lead Wolf through SFRC. Every one went bang :)

Planning to try the TMJ next batch - A couple guys now have mentioned getting better grouping with the TMJ. We'll see.

I've never bought from wolf directly though

Wolf won't sell directly unless you want at least 5 case (5k rounds). SFRC handles all the "small" orders :)

IMO, wolf ammunition is good quality and accurate. YMMV.

What's the price on them for 1000? From what I remember they're not that cheap.

9mm TMJ? around $240 per 1000. SFRC has all the pricing online, if not in 1000 at least in 200 or 250. the math after that is easy

Just checking the wolf website, they are selling 1000 9mm FMJ rounds for $118. These are montana gold bullets. Is there anything wrong with those? If not, and if they will only sell in batches of 5k or more, it makes sense to just buy 5k bullets from them. Its a bit of coin up front, but seems to be economical?

oh, be careful - bullets or rounds? they may be selling just the bullets themselves, not complete reloaded cartridges (case, primer, poweder, bullet). $118 for 1k would be CHEAP if we're talking cartridges.

eeeh.. are we talking bullets or ammunition here?

118$ is just for the bullets, for the reloaded ammunition it's more like 225-240$ (Depending on lead rn/tmj/fmj/etc).

I've bought 2000 rounds of Wolf .45 in lead RN and TMJ. No failures ever. It is good quality ammo, and I've never seen complete rounds of .45 cheaper anywhere. I'm sure the 9mm would be fine too, but I can find American Eagle fairly cheap around here in 9mm.

I bought a total of 4000 rounds of .38,l with a 158 grain plated bullet. good enough for practise, but won't make Power Factor for IDPA.

really??? that sucks quite a bit. were they off by a bit or by a lot? from what i read the reloads are made with IPSC in mind, but wouldn't IDPA be pretty close to that?

its cheaper for me to buy new winchester 9mm ammo from a local store, than to buy from the ammo source, shipping is what kills the deal for me

Never dealt with WOLF directly but get my supplies from SFRC.

If you are planning to just basic target shoot and get lots of trigger time they are perfect for that.

If you plan on getting your Black Badge for IPSC they are perfect for that.

Going for your IDPA certificate, it's perfect for that.

Club level IPSC matches where chrony in not required, it's perfect for that.

FYI. My batch that I bought in 2009 and 2010, total of 3000 rds, and randomly pulled the bullet weighted at 120gr NOT the advertised 124gr.

I chronied the Wolf 9mm out of my M&P9 12ft from my chrony at an average of 1065fps would have given me 127PF.... to closed for comfort when getting chronied at the Provincials.

The same ammo BUT I reseated the bullet from a OAL of 1.110" average down to 1.070" (no sign of over pressure) so it will chamber in my CZ Shadow confidently chronied from 12ft away averaged 1134fps @ 136 PF. At the Provincial they chornied 1174 FPS @ 140 PF.

I bought a bulk of 2400 right from him late last summer. It was 9mm 124g TMJ that I'm still working my way through. I'm a handgun newb and don't get out nearly as frequently as I'd like, but it cycles just fine in my shadow and my HP (when I don't limp-wrist).

As far as accuracy, they must be horrible because they keep going in the upper left quadrant of the paper!! ;-) (I'm working on it) When I get better I'll be able to talk about accurate ammo, I suppose.

Question about SRFC: How do they ship - via Canada Post? If so, what kind of inter-province expenses can I expect for shipping? Also, how do they label their products? I ask this because i don't want a box of 1k bullets being shipped to me being labelled as such, as a lot of people on the way would be able to see that I have firearms in the house, which could lead to break-ins...

UPS and the boxes are unmarked or painted over if they had markings on them.
