Hi: I bought a Turbo Dogg and now what call do you guys recommend for wolves. Here in Mackenzie we have so many wolves that in spring they warned people in town to not go about alone etc. and we have very few deer or moose left.I have lots of volunteers to do the shooting so advise on best calls would be appreciated. I am in Ontario, & mostly call in coyotes. I did have one male red wolf come in to a female invitation howl. I would suspect any of the prey distress sounds local to your area would work. Good luck hunting your wolves!

I haven't had much luck calling in wolves period, baiting seems to work better with the most effective being snares once they hit the bait. They don't seem attracted to the classic screaming rabbit, at least not around here. I have heard that coyote/wolf/fox pup in distress works at times.

go see your local butcher who does deer and moose cuts for hunters. they are usualy more then willing to pass off hundreds of pounds of scrap meat and rib cages to save them a drive to the dump.

Called two in with my standard cotton tail call. I've got an extended series of wolf howling, which they tell me works well, I'm trying to find a way of broadcasting.

Ive had one respond with a second coming in from my Wildlife Tech call. I have to say I had caught sight of him first and followed his track in log cut in some snow. Only after some back and forth with the first one did the second one come in. He was not scared but always keeping at least 150 yards distance.

I had one come into my foxpro couple years ago while hunting coyotes. Stood at the edge of the bush about 100 yards out staring directly at me even though my caller was 80 yards to the right. Guess it spotted me. Wolves IMO are one of those animals one rarely sees when he has a gun.
