Ill be out this weekend on an early hunt. were looking for spiked bulls and mule deer. We have a meadow that were gonna build a tree stand in.

I live in BC and will be hunting around prince george. I have read that wolves are fair game without a tag. So how to do i find wolves, shoud i make calls in the tree stand or is that a waste of a day? if i kill a deer can i use the gut pile to bait in wolves?

Any wolf hunting advice would be appreciated.

your only hope is to shoot one on a gut pile. All other chances are purely random for the most part. Not impossible to have one come into a call though. Bait is legal, and about your only real hope at going for them.

If a hunter gets a chance at a wolf, it will nearly always be by pure chance. A wolf pack has a large territory they regularily cover. So if you put out a bait station, unless it is in the general travel area of the pack, they most likely will never come to it. If they do visit your bait, it may be in two hours, or maybe eight days.
With wolves as plentiful as they are now, one would think they would be more apt to come to your bait. But wolves are such efficient hunters that I doubt if they ever go long without killing something to eat.
