The springs make a lighter pull...but for real improvement I'd do a trigger job (modifie sear, put in a trigger stop screw) AND the springs.
See SKS mod stickys at the bottom...John Yooper has a good article about that.
The hammer spring didn't work (light strikes) in both a military sks and a russian sks. The sear spring made a noticeable difference (about 10-15% as i recall).
Thanks for the input guys i was gonna go all tacticool with my sks but decided the money id spend on a stock/scope/mount would be better spent on springs/tech-sights/and other stuff to actually improve the gun.
Amen to that I got tech sights and love them, I Did a trigger Job with wolf springs and it came out great... Also shimmed the receiver to the stock for a tight fit with aluminium tape.
I did a trigger job on 2 rifles, and the Wolff spring kit made a huge difference. I did not have a problem with light strikes on any ammo. The trigger pull was reduced around 20%.
I did the Sailor Curt trigger job on my SKS with Wolff springs, and it was night and day compared to the trigger originally. I only shoot non corrosive ammo, but it's been flawless with that...it made the trigger pretty passable!
I shimmed the back of my receiver with a thin washer and now the gun is nice and tight.Im gonna wait until i get the wolf springs before i do the trigger.
I ordered my springs from Wolff directly. They are $9 a set. The cheapest shipping option was $20 using USPS, so I ordered 3 sets just so I didn't feel ripped off. The total cost was $50.
I ordered them Feb 7th, they decided to put it in the mail on the 23rd and I got them March 9th.
I highly recommend ordering the springs from hical.ca if you want the kit in less than a month, and you aren't ordering more than 3 kits.
