I can't find anything online about the primers used, are they non tox as well? Required to shoot indoors at my club

He does have lead free stuff for indoor.
I shoot at Grenville Fish and Game club and they need lead free and steered me his way for ammo.
I know he has 9mm and 45 ACP for sure.
It sometimes takes multiple emails and multiple voicemails to get a response from him so be patient.

Good to know.

I'll never use it myself, I enjoy the toxic dust while shooting indoors, but at least it's available for those that want it.

Thanks crenom, I'm also a member at Grenville! Sent them an email yesterday so I guess il wait a few days and try again.. Looking for 9mm for a new to me glock!(my first pistol)

Nice, were you at the ATT course this past weekend? We might have met.
When you do get a hold of him, be sure to mention you are a member of the club and he will drop the minimum order from 5000 rounds to 1000.

Yessir I was there, were you one of the instructors? was talking to Lyn yesterday about the holster course as well. Next step is the black badge after I get some rounds down range!

I was there, too! Rock on… Grenville seems great so far. I built a wooden target stand a couple days ago and am going to hit the range next week. Only non-restricted at the moment till my RPAL upgrade goes through.

Just in case you weren't aware, SFRC deals Wolf ammo and it looks like they have 9mm, 124gr TMJ in stock.

Does seem pretty great, especially for the price.
I'm trying to save up for my first pistol, so many options, so many on the list.
I"ll have plenty of 9mm in the safe for when it happens but at least i can bring my 556 out while i'm waiting, well as soon as i get my ATT.

I saw someone shooting (actual) lead-free primers recently. The spent casings looked like they had just come out of the ultrasonic cleaner. Stark difference to regular primers.

I'm not sure that the club pistol officer would know for sure( or care really that much lol) I it was a true lead free primer or not but the issue lies in the permission to build this range in the first place, club had a hell of a time getting it to go through.. Part of the rules from the CFO (or whoever makes these rules) requires the non tox primers.
I'd hate to be the guy that gets the club in hot water over such a small detail!

Lynn told me that it was the clubs decision to go lead free. I had a couple of lawyers that wanted to go after the CFO until Lynn told me this. Apparently there is no provision in the regs to require lead free. I have searched hard and found no lead free primers in Canada and there is one maker in Russia that makes them. The importers in Canada don't seem to be interested. I recently read an article where the author says that to get to the OSHA limit for lead one would have to fire 450,000 primers per year in a poorly ventilated 8 x 8 room. Since there is such a tiny amount of lead in a regular primer I would like to see Grenville go to just a lead free bullet requirment until lead free primers become available in Canada. I think the indoor range would see a lot more use then. I have no desire to buy commercial ammo.

Speaking of non lead free ranges, at the RA not that many years ago a daycare used the range for nap time. The kids would spread out their blankies and have a nap on the lead covered floor. We all knew about lead then as well.

Ian that is good news then, Lynn lead me to believe it was a rule put in place from the CFO...I guess I misunderstood! I have spent the last 3 days looking all over for a lead free primer round and so far all I've found is the federal premiums(out of stock of course)at more than I'm willing to spend to shoot indoors... Hopefully they decide to scrap the primer issue

That is what is was told about the as well but when I offered up a legal fight the story changed, take it whichever way you like, perhaps the thought of a legal fight was not welcome.
