Hey guys.

Anyone know where I can get this for my Ruger SP101 .22lr. in Canada?

11 Pound Hammer Spring # 18411
SP101, GP100, Super Redhawk

With much research from Ruger Forum, members have great success with this reduced hammer spring.

The 10# had FTF and the 12# was still too stiff.....11# was just right.

I've order from Wolff Springs before and it was a minimum of $25 and the shipping and service charges was another $18.

I just want this one spring ($4.95)........hmm.......anyone need stuff from Wolff Springs? LOL

According to the Ruger Forum, members there have tried this kit with spotty success.

The kit has 9lb, 10lb, 12lb and the preload is not hard enough.

This kit is more suited for the centerfire SP101.

Wolff has already stated on their website that the SP101 springs and kits don't work on the new .22lr but the forums down south have found the GP100/Redhawk #18411 is very reliable and has a slightly different preload while still maintaining 11lbs.

Well...a fellow CGNer and myself ordered a whole variety of springs/kits from Wolff.

I'll post an update once I figure out what works and what doesn't...stay tuned.

Oh boy, forgot about this thread.

I ended up buying the combo pack and the stand alone 11lb.

Installed the 8lb trigger return spring and the 10lb hammer spring.

Tried a few dry fires and man.......what a difference in the hammer pull.....nice and light like a tuned S&W.

As for the trigger return, it was very light also,... almost too light......it seemed like the return action was too slow......like it had to catch up to my finger.

So after about 200rds with Blazer nonbulk, I had over 40rds of FTF.

It was obvious after the first 8 after looking at the primer strike. Barely a dent on the cartridge rim.

And after the first 100rds, the trigger wouldn't return consistently.......it actually got hung up and I had to push it forward the last little bit.

So...DO NOT use this spring combination.

Second trip out and this time I had the factory return spring back in and the 11lb hammer spring.

Much better results, the dent on the cartridge rim was more pronounced and the trigger return was fast and flawless.

I only changed the trigger return spring because it was recommended on the Ruger forums but I don't have anything bad to say about the factory one except it could be just a tad lighter....like maybe another .5 to 1lb.

So with this spring combo, after about 200rds, I only had 8 FTF, still unacceptable in my books but I think this would get better after the revolver has been broken in more.....we'll see.

Humm... After reading your report I'll keep mine stock. Will sand & polish the internals so it's smoother but that's it. I've already shot about 250 rounds of CCI SV in one range trip and zero FTF. I woud'nt accept to have any kind of failures with it anyway.

I agree HC.

I'll give the internals a smooth job as well and see if that helps.

I might even try the 12lb whiIe I'm at it.

Seeing that my other 22lr revolvers run flawless (ie: model 63) , I can't accept any FTF.....just plain annoying.
