It doesn't look as big as the "coyote" (cough .. wolf) killed here a few weeks ago. DNA results should be back on that beast before the end of April.

Did you read the comments after the article?
What a bunch of bleeding heart idiots.

It's always like that with the CBC reader comment section, it must be required reading if you join the NDP. I am just surprised someone didn't blame Harper and claim that if we legalized marijuana we could peacefully coexist with the wolf, share a puff with nature perhaps.

I read a few comments after the article and had to quit because I could feel my blood pressure going up.

There hasn't been a wolf sighting in a hundred years so when the hunter shoots what he expects to be a coyote, the bleeding hearts want him arrested when it turns out it could possibly be a hybrid. Even the MNR is having to run the DNA to find out.

Ah man can't wait to get back home (NB) and get out coyote hunting. I know around my house I know guys that have shot coyotes close to 80lbs. They aren't pure coyotes like out west! Just like the article said, they are bred with wolves. This is why they are soo large.

Eastern coyote/brush wolves have timber wolf DNA in the mix.Proven.And some suspect Red wolf as well/unproven as of yet.........I got $100 for one western coyote this past March............Harold
