Beater,
Can you please post a pic of the headstamp? A brass case in 1959 doesn't match any I have listed. I am always interested to learn about new Tokarevs.
TIA

whats so good about them is usually that ammo is lacquered steel case ammo , with a copper plated bullet on strippers from that maker, from those years. extreamly rare from what I can see that I got brass cases and cupra nickel bullet. im sure its out there but this is the only time I have actually seen it. this is or was made for the CZ sub gun I cant remember the name of it. the brass case ammo works way way better in my P762 pistol than the lacquered steel cases. so, I hit the lottery, I have 2 cases of 2500 rds ea, and im happy

Thanks for the added pic. It is actually from 1953 (bxn / 53) and is a known headstamp.

CaribooBC, brass is the most common case material for Tokarev ammo, but you guys seem to have gotten a lot of Czech steel case surplus. If your case of Russian is from 1952 or later, it is most-likely copper or brass washed steel. If actually brass cased Russian, I would love to see a pic of the case and boxes.

yes its all corrosive from those years steel or brass.
ive compared the boxes externally and cant see any diff from this one to the box of steel cased stuff
im pretty sure it is brass not brass plated steel but ill rip one apart today and see

ok definatly brass case, lead core bullet, which is magnetic but doesn't throw sparks like pure steel so nickel or something in there

this is the boxes.
