Wonder what is the top caliber choice for stag 10 builds so far

243 would be saweet for this rifle! Varmints and target with the heavier 6mm bullets. Saw a guy on the YouTube’s building a 45 raptor ar-10 off of 308 Casings lol

All popular chamberings are possible.

I compete with 308's out to 1000yds but for an AR10 platform, I am really liking the 6.5 Creedmoor.

PM or email if I can help with barrels and other stuff. Thanks

Jerry

.338 federal , nearly finished, just need the barrel but i got that lined up with Jury barrels. Rifle will be purpose built for hunting the timber and for calling elk and moose up close. I have no designs to use it for much beyond 200 yards but know it will get the job done efficiently inside 300. I've got a 7mm rem mag bolt gun for open country hunting/long range.
The other build is shaping up to be a 7mm-08 , also planning a Jury barrel and will be the wife's new deer rifle and i might be borrowing that upper for coyote and wolf hunting over winter. :evil:

Mines a 308, I wanted to do a 6.5 but I had a bunch of quality 308 brass and dies laying around and I didn't want to convert the brass.

Criterion 18.5" 308 barrel on the first one in a lightweight battle rifle setup. Will be doing a 6 Creedmoor on the second in a long range PRS setup.

308 here...
At ANY distance I am a MUCH better shot if I practice with the rifle.
Practice = $
308 vs 6.5 = less $

Getting used to trigger, recoil, optics, and weight balance is far more important than one caliber over another.
I can't afford 6.5 after buying this rig and scope.

As a bonus, Nikon makes a great scope with a BDC designed for 308 bullet drop. (Without breaking the bank)

Put a P-308 on mine, at 12x the BDC is pre calculated up to 800 yards using 165 grain. (I use 168 Barnes TTSX)

I haven't noticed a specific optic for 6.5 yet.
