Wondering about WC 735 surplus powder?

They must have had an amazing amount of this powder as folks often buy it 21 pounds at a time.
They have a family deal that goes back to their fathers'. Hodgdon has to keep sending it as they make it...and as long as Higginson's wants it. Deal was struck between Tom Higginson (back in the early days of Ammomart) and Bruce Hodgdon and will last as long as either family's members are in business.

What kind of velocity and accuarcy is everyone getting with this powder in 223, and what grain bullet ?
I am throwing 60gn VMaxs out of mine (Savage 16 Trophy Hunter) at 3120 fps with 24.6gns of powder. THIS IS ABOVE PUBLISHED MAXIMUM LOADS!!!
This is the powder that was MADE for this cartridge. It is, after all milsurp specs.

Primers used?

Anyone got a pet load for 55gr 223? How does it meter on the XL650?

I found my XCR settled right down at 25 grains WC735 under a 55gr fmj with magnum primers (my xcr beats on the primers pretty hard... punctures at starting loads with regular small rifle primers). By the looks of it this is a little above published maximums, so work up with caution. For me the load just settled right down at 25 grains... clean cases, smaller extreme spread/standard deviation and the best accuracy of the loads I tested. I have shot a couple thousand rounds of this load with no ill effects on the rifle or cases, but as I said, work up using caution.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I load them on my xl650 and it meters beautifully.
