Wondering what kind of rifle my dad would of used..

I don't know about you, but on my computer I can run "FN rifle" through google images in another window, see a representative image and be back on the forum in under 8 minutes.
Rofl that's hilarious. I know how to use the internet and my computer very efficiently when I want to. Also I looked up both the names I've mentionned and only 1 came up with pictures (fnc1) and noticed that it looked like a nice rifle and when someone confirmed the name, I said it was nice.
You'd have to be pretty desperate for attention to be pulling a stunt like that (or to think that someone is....
)
FNC1 vs C7 (M16)
I enjoyed a presentation at our pistol club by a visiting Brit soldier (SAS, I think) who talked about the Falklands fighting. The Argies were using FNs. he was using a M16. His comment was that the bigger caliber threw up a lot of stone chips that became dangerous. Almost all of the engagements he dscribed were at night.

I just remember watching that RCR Buttstroke the guy at Oka with his C7 and wondering why he didnt fall.He would have no teeth and be on his ass with the FN.I also remember the first time I fired the C7 giggling as it went boing,boing,boing.Accuracy improved but we had to be more careful with them.I earned my cross and crown with the FN at Borden carried them when I was 14/15 through the dunes At Ipperwash and it always worked.By the time I joined the Qyrang reserve it was an old friend and I still miss it.
I think the kit you are trained with is sadly missed when replaced(unless the new kit kicks ass). We traded in web gear for tac vests before I got out, and I thought they were slick. Until I used it and found I had no room for anything, kept reaching for my webbing to grab a mag, sweated like a pig b/c it covers your back and chest. I never thought I would miss my webbing, but boy did I ever.

When you are 18 the rifle ain't that heavy, The older you ger the heavier the rifle gets, (at least it seems that way)

I saw the C7 for the first time when I was in Germany in 1986, it didn't impress me much at that time, one of the plastic mag lips broke off and 30 rounds of live ammo came flying out the ejection port. I still like the FN and wish I had bought one before the 12(5) BS.
The FN really was a bit of a kinky pleasure. They'd beat the sh*t out of you, bruise you, it seemed there was always a piece of the damned thing stuck in you if you had to go down fast, it was too long, too heavy and too loud. Damn I miss those rifles. I'd love the opportunity to lug one through the bush again.
I thought the FN field-stripped better than the C7. The way the receiver cover slides right off makes it easier to clean. First time cleaning the C7 I thought "how am I supposed to get in there?" But it was funny when we fired the C7 for the first time; everyone was going "Holy S***, it's a .22!!"
