My father inlaw just bought an AK47 "In case #### goes down" (Think New Orleans, what can I say the guy is a paranoid veitnam vet) and we are heading there in 2 weeks. He lives on 30 acres 200 miles past the middle of no where. Looking forward to a full day of shooting all his guns! :sniper::dancingbanana::sniper:

Yea last time we spent a whole afternoon shootingoff his porch. Ammo is so cheap down there. Probly shot off 100 boxes of ammo between 5 of us and 20 or so guns. It sure is nice shooting with hi cap mags....especially the M1 garand with the 10 rnd clip that fires out the top of the rifle when it's empty...

It's my understanding that unless the AK is full auto it really does not need the heavier milled receiver.

Yes, a few Chinese 75 round drums would be a nice addition to any AK

The original AK's were stamped but stamping technology was subpar at the time so they were machined until stamping processes got better as they are now.
The chinese made alot of milled ak's like the MAK90's and the Legend series.
I have one leaning against my desk at home.
And yes, having a bunch of 75 rnd drums for the AK's is nice ;)

Because a true AK-47 has a milled receiver. It was the AKM (AK - Modern) which sported a formed sheet metal.

Real old-timey AK-47s with a milled receiver are worth some sheckels, and never got made outside of old mother Russia.
the USSR wasn't the only country to make AK-47's
unless you forgot about East Germany, Poland, Yugoslavia etc etc

and don't forget you can buy Arsenal USA MILLED guns..so yes the guys family member just may have a semi AK47 clone

but then what the hell do I know, I'm just a guy on the internet:ar15:

How is he going to defend 30 acres of boonies with one AK? Tell him he needs at least a whole crate. Those VC are everywhere.

Because most AK's in the US are of the AKM type. I don't now of any one who is making the milled AK47's.
Assuming I had a proper chinese milled receiver AK in full auto back home in the motherland could I possibly get in trouble from one of the moles on CGN if I posted lotsa video and pics when I go there on vacation this summer? This is all hypothetical of course for the sake of discussion :sniper:

ps, I'm not chinese...

Why would you? There are plenty of good pics, video kicking around of all the fun stuff we can't have. Just be sure to identify the fact it is not in Canada.

I dunno, I figured I'd start a thread on CGN with requests on stuff they'd like to see mowed down by FA 7.62x39... I prolly won't bother though.
