Several months ago I bought a Norinco SKS in an ATI Dragunov stock off the EE. The rifle is a hoot, and I decided almost immediately that I wanted a Russian one. Today I was working the NFA booth at the Woodstock gun show, where I was able to eye the SKS display of "John's Armoury". I picked up a 1952 Tula refurb for $200 taxes included, along with the usual sling/mag pouch/cleaning kit. I wasn't sure of the pedigree of this rifle when I bought it, although he did say it was a Tula and a refurb, so I checked it against the pictures and info in Curtton's "sticky" and was able to identify it down to the year, great info there. I'm looking forward to cleaning it up and sighting it in! Woooo!

I was there.... I liked the 1950 he had. Didnt have the refurb stamp on the receiver, but did have the ######'s on the stock. tried to talk my friend into buying it... I'm up to 5 sks at the moment:D so I just couldnt...

That might be the one I bought, sounds exactly like it. The receiver cover is 1950, but according to the info on Curtton's sticky, everything else says 1952.

I'm up two as well now one 51 tula refurb and one 54 tula refurb i love them they are a hoot to shoot, and i think they just look cool

I agree...i have three of them 2 Chinese and one Russian....they are great guns and really do look cool.

I was just admiring my two beauties, a 1951 unissued, non-refurbished, unfired beauty, and my 1952 blonde laminate refurb which is fully Arma-coated and refinished. They really are a well made, great looking rifle ! I wish I had the space, as I would like one more... an Izzy.

This one was on the inside of the rack. The stock was hard to read, but I thought it said '50.... but I could have just made myself see that.. it was pretty faded.... But yeah, good score on that one...!

Must be nice to have 2. I'm at 13, and running out of space!

You need the case for 10 of them......
