Wood Chest for Lee Enfield

Back in the mid 90's at the Calgary Gunshow in October when it was in the Big 4 Building,
there was a guy there selling them (No7 boxes), must of had about 20+ of them.
I picked up a real nice one with tongue and groove, original paint and some Paper Tags stapled on.

Is the No.4(T) box different than a No.7 box? Size? Thanks.

Yep, the 4T box is the "chest, no15". It is a bit taller, and has a holding block built in to retain the scope in it's can. The Cno7 chest is a bit shorter, and has only a small holder for 3 of the 4 cleaning rod attachments, and grooves cut into the rifle retaining blocks for the cleaning rod and the 4th attachment.

An original sniper chest is worth $400 to $800. A Cno7 chest is worth from $40 to $150, although I have seen them sell for more when sellers post them as sniper chests on ebay.

Look at the photos I posted in post #16. There are two (cdn) sniper chests on the tailgate of my wanna-be pickup, along with a Cno7 chest sitting in front of them. The size difference is pretty clear.

Now if you have a "Trials T" they used Vickers boxes. Apparently when they were building the first T's, someone forgot that you needed a transit case for them
