I got the idea to build some wood duck nesting boxes from a fellow CGN’er.
I’m fortunate that I was able to harvest my own cedar trees, mill them myself, dry the planks, and cut out the boards.
The cedar will be left untreated and unfinished.
The boxes will be hung in late summer so that waterfowl migrating in the fall scope out potential nesting sites for next spring.
One of the sides opens up for annual cleaning and maintenance. I will post the pictures once the boxes are installed in a wooded pond.
