Latetly Ive been looking at the cdl and find it everso appealing. Most of my rifles have a synthetic stock and I'd like to get a nice walnut stock for a rem700.

Besides the EE..

where would I be able to find a nice walnut stock for a SA rem700?

who sells them?

For what configuration? You mention cdl... and short action... is your rifle a CDL or an ADL or a BDL ? Is it a heavy barrel or light barrel ? Left hand or right hand?

For a rem700 sps (hinged floor plate), right handed, short action, light barrel.

wouldn't it be a drop in fit for a SA RH cdl stock?

Yes, as long as its the same barrel contour. If you have a standard cartridge, don't get a stock from a WSM...

If you are trying to get one from what used to be the good old USA, the USA laws require import/export licenses/permits/paperwork in place before shipping or arriving at the border. It is an annoyance and takes a bit of time. There are stickies somewhere on CGN about importing and exporting with the USA today.

Goose25,
I had a SPS .243 that I didn't care for much, so when a new takeoff stock from a CDL Stainless fluted came up I scooped it. The slightly bigger barrel channel saved me the trouble of floating it, and the pieces slipped together like they'd been married for awhile. It shoots so well that I never bothered to bed it. If you happen to find one, this is what it'll look like.

CDL stock

Here's my Stainless/Symthetic 700 7m/m mag now in CDL stock. Found it at Chilliwack show this spring. Had to convert to accept my DM. Keep eye on eBAY. Seller named Stocky's says will ship.
