Can someone give me a quick lesson on the CZ858? Who makes it, what are its origins, how close to an AK is it?

Former Czechoslovakia made it and today's Czech and Slovak republics
(when they feel like).


The only similarity with AK is the ammo, 7.62x39.
That's it, leave it like that, trust me.

Definitely looks classy. My only concern is that I wouldn't mind scratching the pressboard furniture, but I'd be terrified of doing anything with it if it looked that good. Also why I want a previoused abused one, so I can be guilt free.

heres a pic of a birch that came dark from the factory so i will presume the lighter ones are beech.

Beech is easy to spot because of the "freckling" on the curved surfaces. I do know for a fact they made some CZ58 furniture out of beech.

Birch wouldn't surprize me either and it looks like that's what's in the picture.
