Well as most of you know I was injured at the trap club a while back and the support from the people on this site has been great, thanks.

After my leg was blown up I grabbed the back of my thigh, knowing full well that if the femoral artery is damaged direct pressure is my only hope. I layed myself down gently on the ground with my Beretta 682 Gold E Trap X beside me....ON THE CONCRETE !!!. The wood was damaged on both the forarm and the butt. I have had it repaired but wood was lost and it really is not the same. I need to get some new wood, both a forarm and a butt stock with adjustable comb.

My question is where do I go to get this ?? SC gunworks ?? will any wood work or does it need to be fitted to my gun ?? Thanks

Jacky, Hope you are healing well and sorry to hear about your shotgun.Gagnon Sports in Oshawa has a set of 682 wood listed on their website for $400.Ph #905- 725- 5798.Hope this helps. Bac4

Do you know if it will just fit or do I need to get it fitted ??

Jacky, Sorry I don't know.If you call, speak to Jeff in the gunroom or Jerry Gagnon himself.Either should be able to tell you. Both are quite knowledgeable regarding shotguns.Perhaps Beretta Boy on this forum could advise as well. Bac4

You might also try Precision Arms in King, Ontario. Steve Milton often has spare stocks around. Whether it will need to be fitted up depends on the individual stock. I've replaced and swapped stocks on 682s before and not had a problem.

Good to hear you are healing and intend to stay shooting.

Hmmmm this is a lot harder than it seems. I know that it is kinda like the airplane crashing - car crashing senerio. The chances of something happening again are slim to none, but I am having a hard time wraping my head around it and getting out to shoot.

Jacky, I've never been in the same situation but have you considered shooting another game to start? In skeet and sporting there is more distance between the shooter and the rest of the squad than there is in trap. It might help ease you way back into the game.

Or you could buy a new gun. That's always worked for me when I wasn't keen on going shooting. ;)

Why ... you musta' fallen off your bike a time or two ?

Get back up and get at 'er !

NO THINKING ... JUST SHOOT ! :D

PS. Claybuster's right ... Skeet & Sporting will make you a better shooter too ;)

Well this is a given. After what I happened I NEED a new gun just not another shotgun as I have really grown to love this Beretta I have. In fact why I resisted owning a Beretta for some long was really dumb.

I am thinking a BRNO rifle or Remington Classic or Winchester in 7X57. Besides shotguns I would really like to own a good shooter in that caliber :)

What the heck happened to your leg?

I removed the pictures of the hole because people were saving them and sending them to everyone and their dog, making speculations about what happened...blah...blah...blah but the hole was about 2 1/2 inches in the back and about an 1 1/2 along the side. I am walking but there is still a ton of pain and discomfort. It will take some time.
