Have you seen many woodcock yet?
I bumped a handful back around March 11th, but they may have moved off. The masses have not shown up yet. I am down towards Windsor, ON. You?

I figure some shed hunters and bird dog owners might have some info to share.
Thanks

They won't be in NorOnt for another month... we start hearing mating flights around April 20-25th.

It taint a Woodcock, but thars a yellow-throated warbler, is snug in a Lunenburg County since last fall.
Kinda hung around with some kind folks there in Lunenburg.

Spring is just around the corner...well maybe not in some parts where the snow is still several feet deep.

Looking forward to the green buds and birds and other wild springtime sights and sounds.
Till then, keep the snow blowers warm and the boots/mitts dry.

I'm always amazed at how warm the short winter is in southern Ontario. Yesterday got our first day of melting temperatures since December. And you're asking about seeing woodcock! Just an interesting contrast. Enjoy spring, we'll be waiting another month or two.
