Wooden AR furniture...

The hand guards would be one hell of a project alone getting the mounting surfaces and inner space done without a milling machine.
 
Personally I think it gives it a touch of class. Then again, I collect milsurps!

Teak would be beautiful - I like the flat topped one that navy shooter put up.

Google Ironwood Designs. They make wood stocks for all kinds of rifles. Last time I checked you wouldn't find them on their site but they do make them for the AR-15. As a matter of fact, I'm positive that they made the above set that Shazam posted for Lakeside Machine. As far as I know they only offer triangular handguards (long and short) but they use CNC so they could probably do whatever you want.
 
^IIRC there was a thread not too long ago about a company in the states that makes ARs with moddified FAL furniture...
