Anyone know a good source for Wood Hand Guards for picatinny rails?

I love the feel of wooden handguards and just don't like the feel of plastic handguards

Been searching all day so far no success.

Looking to install on my XCR-M on the Under and 2 sides Already making a Rear stock outta wood for the Folder as well

Too bad you don't want it for an AR-15.

I was thinking about trying to make some from 1/8 inch natural canvas micarta. I'm still trying to find out how heat resistant it is though.

That would be a bit of a doozy. I don't think I've ever seen something like that before, but you could probably take some rail covers (like Tango Down hard plastic ones) and put wood veneer on them to give it the look. The only downside is those rail covers always tend to bulk up a handguard.

Very cool sounding project though, as a guy that likes wood on black rifles :D

ordered a damaged mauser stock from Ellwoods gonna use that to create a new Buttstock

Not looking for the wood look but the feel and dunno i find heat through the wood better then plastic when firing lots in a sitting
