Wool clothing

Any Canadian places to get/order Codet?

I don't know if Wholesale Sports still carries the wool trousers I bought there a few years ago, they are branded Big Bill and are made by Codet.

Yesterday (WED 15) I saw one Codet/Big Bill bib overall on a 50% off clearance rack at Wholesale Sports in Saskatoon. ###Large

Got some Cabela's wooltimate for few years and they have been good, but not all wool. Got some filson and orvis that's good too but cost more.

Filson makes a very good product. If you need to order online, you might want to consider L.L. Bean.
I've found their sizing to be right on and their return policy and customer service is second to none. Free shipping too !

Codet can often be found at you local work wear (not usually big box) stores. Some good wool odds & ends at Cabela's & Bass Pro as well.

Eaton's catalogue. Stanfields pure wool underwear, plus other good brands of wool pants, wool jackets and coats of various types, wool socks, you name it and they had it with free delivery. And the quality was always exactly as described.
Oops, maybe the T. Eaton Co. with their twice annual catalogues are not in business anymore!

ha, no guess not. They had everything, I used to read the whole catalogue.

ALSO have a look a Worsterlon shirts that Cabela occasionally sells .. the heavy weight versions are excellent; warm (also when wet) no itch, wash and dry (dry VERY quickly!) tough as iron. The only drawback compared to wool is that - because they are a synthetic material - probably not ideal if you are a fire fighter - not that I have ever experienced any issue ...

Their fast drying quality is a huge advantage over wool if you are likely to find yourself in wet weather.

They don't have much for pants/underclothing, etc, but woolovers.ca has decent prices on their sweaters. Most of their stuff is a little too "trendy" for what most are looking for, but I got a lighter hoodie and the heavier weight hill walker sweater and they are both quite warm.

If you check every once in a while they have sales and free shipping events.

I second Filsons . I have there waterfowl sweater and I cannot say enough good things about it . It cost a little more but if you check every now and then they have deals . I got my sweater for $ 59.99

I wore the Columbia stuff last year - definitely best below zero Imo. Pretty warm to be hiking around in when temps are warmer. never had it out in heavy rain but I imagine you would be wet but warm. Pretty quiet too - some gear is noisy when you go through brush

Thanks guys, ended up going with some charcoal red/green overplaid wool pants and a Codet jacket from Eglis sheep farm. Will also be picking up some Stanfields for base layers.

I use quite a few Filson products and absolutely love them. They are a quality product and will last a lifetime.

I don't know how big you are (or hard to fit) but don't count out Filson or Woolrich. These cost ALOT but they will last for ever. Search Codet out on line. This is a Canadian company that makes very good wool clothing.

There is a reason that C.C. Filson's motto is "Might as well have the best". It is incredibly rugged and durable and made of the highest quality. Not unlike Ardent's H&H Royal, it is built well and will stand the test of time and last for many many years. Long after the browning gear has given up the ghost the Filson will still be wearing in the bush. The only risk is that it shrinks in the closet.

Don't fear ordering online. Most companies have a decent return policy and will exchange if you don't get the right size right off.

FULL CURL DISCONTINUED! I also like that browning line of clothing but it's been discontinued. If your an odd ball size you might find something by fluke. Otherwise good luck and if you do pls PM me. I'm an XL.

Merino wool is incredible stuff. YouTube it if your in the research mode!

Cheers.
