So I was pulling bullets and dumping powder, and I accidentally dumped 2 rounds worth of imr4350 into a half pound of h4350. Is that cause to burn the whole thing or should I be alright?

Personally, I wouldn't worry at all about 100 grains of imr4350 mixed in with 3500 grains of h4350. Others will be along shortly to tell you to fertalize your plants with it though.

Edit: IMR5350 and H4350 are right beside each other in burn rate, it's not like you dumped a bunch of fast burning pistol powder in there. I wouldn't sweat it at all but the decision is yours.

Both powders have the same burn rate and are essentially "the same" as far as pressure produced for a given volume of powder. Hodgdon bought IMR some time ago and standardized the powder. So IMR4350/H4350/AA4350 are the same powder made in the same plant on the same line - just different packaging.

.

IMR 4350 is made in Canada; H4350 is made in Australia; AA 4350 is made in the Czech Republic

While all three are similar they are not identical. As mentioned 100 grains of IMR into a full jug of H won't cause much of a problem especially if the jug is well shaken to mix in the powder.

Thanks guys, but to be a pain, it does look different. Hodgdon looking more uniform than the imr. But yeah I'll keep it, any try not to do that again!

Of course it doesn't look the same as it is a different powder made by a different manufacturer. The only thing IMR 4350 and H4350 have in common is that they are both distributed by Hodgson.

You should also know that Hodgson DOESN'T make powder as they obtain their products from many different sources such as ADI and IMR

There will probably be just as much lot to lot variation from any single manufacturer than there is between the 3 different 4350 powders. Just like h100 trap & w452aa or w231 and hp-38. No worries at all.

Don't you hate it when you go through all that effort to type out all the info to sound smart, then get schooled.:)

Better know your sh!t on CGN before giving a duhhh!!! reply.

And agree with the shake and shoot.
Just don't mix up VARGET with TITEGROUP.

Now that's the dumbest information posted since Sunray left.

No clue here whatsoever. The powders all originate in diverse places, and while close, are not the same. Dave.

Sounds like a nice guy... Lol.
I have been reloading for about a year now and I'm still pretty nervous when trying anything I heard on the internet. 5 sources will tell you 5 different things, all sorts of fun.

I miss him.
Luckily there are helpful folks on CGN that quickly and effectively correct these bad advice. You get what you paid for. Folks have to learn to not believe everything they hear/read and think for themselves; after all we are not communist/socialist.

I don't.

He was purposely trying to injure or kill someone with his bad "advice". Some of his antics on this and other forums should have led to criminal charges.
