Work Guns I’ve Known

Convergent rifle evolution, I had the Echols stock and his bottom metal on my first of the three SS .375 Model 70s. I chat with Phil a couple times a year, heard about Tia’s .416. She sounds tougher than the boys, some recoil to absorb there as it isn’t a heavy build, built for carrying. Really like the picatinny rail for the light, been several nighttime grizzly situations that would have been a comfort for.

Are you looking to use a CRF action?

Different targets and environments call for different work guns. These were mine for combat deployments to Afghanistan in 2002 and 2008 respectively. Not much action in 02, but plenty of time on the 2-way range in 08:

SO how many rounds do you have through your Glock over how many years?
How often do you practice with it just to stay sharp with a pistol?

This is one of the most informative threads I have read in years.
Thanks all!

Not a ton, shoot the Glock once every couple months, nothing really changes shoot it well in a hurry. Hard not to with that gun. We have to qualify with the RCMP shoot annually, it’s actually a decent qualification unlike what you might expect. Have to shoot hot ammo fast in groups of five, at progressively closing ranges and shorter times allowed. Keeps you on your toes.

Still have at least half of my original case of 1,000 10mm I bought with the gun and a full second case, bought the G40 to replace the Smith .44 a year and a half ago.

Awesome thread. Glad to have a fellow G40 Afficionado chime in!

Yes, I searched that up the other night. The story tells that it is a picatinny mount but as one might expect, it appears to be a very sleek piece of work.

130s or 150s sighted in at 250 yards, lets the client shoot 300 yards with a dead hold. I’ve loaded Barnes 130s but lately have been using the CEB 135gr ER Raptor. Best way to make a .308 seem like a limited gun is to load it too heavy bullet wise. 150 and under and it’s a great mountain rifle that gives up nothing to a .260.

What kind of load data do you have for the 130 barnes and 135 ceb?
