. Yes they still make them. As I've found out that can change very quickly. I bought a Winchester Model 70 Coyote from a buddy in 243WSSM. Shortly afterwards they stopped making them. Last year I bought a Kimber SVT in .22. Guess what, they no longer make them

The 40X-BR's have about as much style and class as a club, Remington's are a good work tool and there are marvelous add-ons to be had, but are not by any stretch of the imagination a sporting rifle !
However I would be prepared to bet money that the Remington 700 and its variants will still be made in 75 years.......and used.
I would kill for a short action CRF Winchester (not with the long claw extractor) in 6 BR sporting a 1.5 oz Jewell trigger....Winchester FINALLY made a short 223 length action and stuffed it with cartridge selection, no wonder they went broke.

Ps, I suspect firearms that look perfect, I respect those that are used.

This can't be a Canadian rifle, as a Canadian one would have a proper Robson screw.
that would be Robertson screw, probably the best design for driving srews ever invented...and iirc developed by the same guy (Robertson) that invented tracer bullets....
and J Stuart, i'm guessing kangaroo control or something similar?

While primarliy built for sheep/goat/caribou rifle, it ends up being packed ~50% of my hunts below treeline as well and has also accounted for elk, moose, mulies, whitetail, blackies, grizz, coyotes, ptarmigan, grouse and crows.
It sees hard use and is never babied...having said that the only discernable scritches and scratches on it are minor cosmetics.
The dent on the elevation cap occured on a sheep hunt, and actually dented the coin slot inside as well...rifle has never needed to be resighted since I had it built!
A hard hunted rifle need not look like it was dragged behind the pickup if you exercise even a tiny bit of common sense, and while they are tools, I don't make a habit of throwing my cordless drills and skill saws around either....

Thats funny! how many times has the scope went flying off? and a serpentine belt off of a 89 Ford F150 would work well for a sling

on a side note i'd like to see the EE ad for J Stuarts rifle...
Lovingly maintained by one careful owner, impeccable pedigree, with years of use to be had by some extraordinarily lucky buyer.
Slight amount of dust from being stored in the attic for so long, otherwise as good as the day it was made.
Ps, the vendor also has a prime piece of slightly moist landscape for sale with access to permanent water source, a must in these dry times..........ideal for 4WD and fishing.
