I have a remy mdl 700 LVSF in 7mm-08
I am thinking about taking the factory fiberglass stock and removing the flat edged bottom and shaping the stock to a more narrow mtn contour stock.
Also removing the R3 pad and going as skinny a recoil pad as I can get.
The stock is factory pillar and aluminum bedding block equipped.
Anybody have experience with this kinda job?
Will the factory B&C stock take the reshaping without falling apart?
I like to barrel contour just want a lighter more handy stock.

I don't think that is a fibreglass stock...

I think it is a Black Bell & Carlson composite stock ... I don't know how well you can reshape the exterior... quite possibly you will be taking a chance of destroying it...

I suspect that the stock might not be suitable for remodelling.
You would probably be better off to sell it, and buy a replacement stock that suits you.

Thanks for the input gents. You may be right,I will look into the composite theory.Remy should have info on their website.RB

RB- I've got the same rifle, and was thinking about doing the same mod. Then I found out the stock on the Ti rifles is the same as the LVSF, except the forend is rounded. I've got one inbound, and will do some side by side pics when it arrives.
