Gentlemen,
This file is for some of the NEW Guys so give them a chance at it first. OK

Here are two photo's with what I would call some collection!! The question is what are they doing in the first photo. Then see if you can tell me what they are doing in the second photo. I hope you enjoy this one.

Well no one responded. :)

That if my memory surves me right it's a cosmoline bath for the M'1s on the 2nd picture and on the first picture its them applying it by hand before they got the fancy equipment to do the bath. :)

were they bathed in cosmoline by default after manufacture? or was it a process only done before long term storage was assured?
that is, was it done right away even if they knew they were shipping them out the next day?

You are correct SIR. Later they had them dipped with cosmoline. All received a coat of cosmoline BBq.

You are CORRECT AGAIN SIR, it seems that other Garand sites don't want my data. If you have time go over to AR15.com in the M1/M1A What a mess.
