working with a 700bdl

Hi guys, I have a 12 year old or so 700bdl in 300wm

It shoots like a champ with factory and hand loads. I'm thinking of using this as a long range precision rifle. Is it with keeping this action and working with it or keep it as is? I'd like a heavier stock to help tame some of the recoil with additional weight.

Suggestions?

Change the stock to something more comfortable for yourself and shoot it. Change the barrel if accuracy falls off or if you find the need to go to a heavier contour due to heat.
