I think they are using ICFRA rules, see http://www.dcra.ca/Palma2007/ICFRA TECHNICAL RULES 2006 promulgation.pdf see T2 of these rules, 308 with 156g or less OR 5.56 with 81g or less bullets. DCRA also allows 5.56/80 against 308/155's in regular comps

I do not think Stan owns a 308 even! I have watched him load over at Jim's and I know his rifle, powder and bullets. Yes it is with irons... and when Stan is hot, he is hot...

Just talk to Stan and yes he was using a 308 for this.

Not only are they using iron sites, but they have to shoot while being lifted by each other.

Seriously, are there are more pics then this index?

I do not know the guy in the chair, but I'm guessing it is David Luckman being "Chaired".

Congrats to "he who is in the picture/chair"... and every one else that made it. Not me, I'm stuck at work!!

Yes that is David Luckman in the chair.
Stan Frost does in fact own at least one .308, that's what he shoots at Bisley. For the life of me I can't remember what it is, but for some reason I think it is a Musgrave. I am not sure what he was shooting during the WLRC.

I think you are correct on that, he does have a Musgrave, he just does not use it much at the SPRA...

Fazal had a terrific WIC. He had to fight back hard after dropping from 10th to about 24th on Wednesday. On Thursday with just 2 ranges to go, 800m & 900m, he shot great scores to get back into the top 10.
He had a 145 in the last range of the WIC, 900m, in real tough conditions when most shooters would have been happy to score a 140. That got him back into the top 10 and into the final.

This was the toughest match, both in terms of conditions and level of competition, I could have imagined. The conditions made for a lot of good score board watching as shooters tumbled down the list and clawed their way back up. I'm sure that every shooter in the top 10 final had atleast 1 disaster that they had to overcome.

Anyway, the Team portion of the Palma Match starts tomorrow. The GB team is also doing a great job with their support people in trying to give "real time" results on their web site as the team matches progress.
This link should allow for quick updates for the 2 day match, Saturday and Sunday.

I competed in that match and I stood behind my great buddy Mirko Teglasi as he went into that final. He was paired with Luckman.

I was paired with Luckman at 800 metres the day before, and the guy shot like a machine, something like a 150-10X, if I recall.

During the final, the winds were about the worst they'd been for the whole match, coming straight back and fishtailing left and right. All the range flags were going in different directions, and a slight angle shift could swing you three minutes to either side and into magpie territory. I'd shot the same conditions earlier in the day and ended up with a 131-4x, to give you an idea of how brutal this was.

All in all, it was a great experience.
