World Shoot ammo costs are up

Ammunition costs range from € 16,00 to € 20,00 per box of 50 according to the website.

With a 500 round count that is € 160 to € 200 for the match numbers.... snip...

Take 5kg of ammo with you and purchase only what you need above that weight limit. For the heaviest bullets, you'll only need to purchase half. For the lighter bullets you'll only need 100-150.

Hello Euxx,
Thank you for you comments on the Geco World Shoot Ammunition review on my web site.

I tried the black marker test with a Shadow and a Sphinx barrel and the rifling does not mark the bullet on either make of barrel. I have hand cycled the 9mm 139 and 154 grain bullets through eight SP01’s and Shadows and there was no bullet drag on the rifling on all the pistols I tried both types of ammunition in.

Geco have contacted me this morning ( 21/07/11 ) and have informed me that they are working at full speed to produce a .40 S&W round with a longer than factory specification overall length with C.I.P. approval, for Standard Division competitors to use at World Shoot XVI, to ensure reliable feeding with 2011 style pistols. When I get more information on this I will add it to the article on my web site and post it here also.
Regards, David.

Geco World Shoot XVI Ammunition

At the request of USA Team Infinity Shooter Lee Neel, I measured the case head diameter of the Geco IPSC Approved .38 Super major power factor ammunition.
Lee wanted to know this information so he could determine that this ammunition would properly function through his SVI.

I just measured the case head diameter of 10 cases.
The smallest diameter was 10.18mm and the largest diameter was 10.23mm.
The average diameter of the 10 cases measured was 10.215mm.
I will also add this information to the Geco World Shoot Ammunition article on my web site.
Regards, David.

All that you, I and everyone else can do is to keep looking at the World Shoot web site until they update it with the relevant information. I can appreciate that it gets more frustrating as we get closer to the match date. If I hear anything I will post the information here.
