so Vince just posted, yesterday, that they are looking to move the shoot to October. Thanks, I just finished horse trading, sucking up and bribing people at work to let me take 2 sets (20 days) off in August. I am not very ####ing happy.

Hey Rob,
Just think how the rest of the match will be organised if they can't decide on a date to start with....lol

That is brutal. Just made my plans for next year yesterday. Looks like it is horsetrading / begging time already.

Vince is probably busy in August making up new Production Division rules.

Actually October would be nice - it will screw up fewer USPSA matches that are normally held in July/August.

Dinner was a good deal for some, others got a little suprise the morning after.
I was really impressed with all the "help" the match provided for us at customs when we arrived, some dude who could only say ammo in english wanting to see our ammo then pointing to the room with the army guys who didn't speak english where we got our gun paper work. Were we supposed to fill something out before we left?? The other thing that puzzeled me was that the match hotel had no match info available, there was just a poster in the lobby.
The best way I can describe that trip is to borrow a WW2 vet's quote "It was a million dollar experience I wouldn't pay a dime to do again"

Having been to three of these, Phillipines, Ecuador and South Africa.

Two had great organization, two had great stages. South Africa was the one with both. It's up to Bali to repeat South Africa's accomplishment (with the exception of thier Awards ceremony) I believe organization (where, when, what do do, help at customs, etc.) won't be an issue with Bali.

I like later in the year, but it's a piss-off that they just decided that now and it does contradict some of the reasoning the Indonesians were explaining for the August date. (Like August meant better hotel rates...)

I am guessing here that there was no time for some individuals to book all the hotels in Bali... like it was done in South Africa...I wonder who will be in charge of booking and distributing the rooms...

././

Well all-good and justifiable reasons to postpone the World Shoot. But I think (IMO) that it's solely because of the Low US $$ and thus some individuals "Kick Backs" won't be as profitable.....

Or just maybe it may be legit and have something to do with the Olympics being the same time frame and in the same geographical flight area, (Flying, Guns, Olympics)....:runaway:

Cheers

but this might mean you can come over for the Quebec provincials ;)

so not only do we go when hotels are more expensive, so are flights. The cheapest flight in October is 25% more expensive than the cheapest flight in August and currently there are only 2 seats left at that price. at least from Halifax.

well Canada makes up a very small percentage of shooters, there and I have no idea on US hunting dates or European ones for that matter.
