world smallest deer

A few years back I did shot a 45 lbs deer by mistake. It was the last day of the 3 days black powder season. My gun was a Lyman caplock .54 cal. Great Plains Rifle. It was about 15 minutes after the sunset and some deers did came out in the field to eat some corn. It was so dark when I sighted the deer with the buckhorn sights that I didn't saw the younger one in front of the doe. They looked like shadows in fact... I did fired the rifle and found the young who died in it's track. I was pissed of at the moment but finally I found later that it was the tastiest deer I eve ate!
 
I had just finished bringing in my 250lb + buck into the butcher (they use an electric winch to lift them), when an old van pulled up.
The butcher asks if he needs to use the winch...he slides open the door, pulls out a black garbage bag and tosses it one handed onto the loading dock.
Upon opening the garbage bag, it was a 40lb fawn...The butcher's jaw almost hit the ground. :eek:

yearling deer are very tasty but i like to get a good size doe for the freezer...
 
I thought THESE were the smallest deer in the world.
