Got a bunch of 5.56 & .223 brass for my AR and just hated using my Lee case trimmer. It was very accurate but very slow. I needed volume for my AR.

Read about the little trimmer from Little Crow Gun Works, said what the hell and phoned and ordered one.

It showed up yesterday and I quickly un-packed it and attached to my drill. In 15 seconds I had trimmer 3 pieces of brass and they all measured pretty much bang on 1.750". I'm very happy. My reloading tasks for the AR have now been improved about 700%.

I love it, trimming is my least favorite step, in fact it's the only step I don't enjoy doing.
I'm sure I'm gonna pick one up for .223 as soon as I make some overtime!
 
It was $79.95 delivered. The unit is $69.95 and he charges $10 to deliver anywhere in Canada.

The video shows that is deburrs, but does not chamfer. I'll let you know how well it does this as I get more brass done.

No chamfering, the cutter inside is just a standard endmill. You adjust the depth by losening a set screw and moving it.

It is caliber specific. At the bottom of the bell shaped housing is a bearing with a case holder pressed into it. The case holder is basically the front portion of a chamber.
 
To adjust for cut length there are 2 set screws on the side. As far as being caliber specific, the website states is caliber "family" specific.

My cutter will do a few cartridges in the .22 "family". The website shows it can do 17 Rem, 221 Fireball, 222 Rem, 223 Rem, 222 Rem Mag.

The website shows that other cutters will do family sized brass. Just have a look if you get that interested in it.
 
Was curious about this trimmer when I saw the ads. Seems like a well executed bit of kit, but as far as being world' greatest, it ain't a Giraud!!
 
That much is true. The maker is marketing it as the World's Finest Trimmer. His words and ads, not mine. Although I do think it works very well for me.
 
K I finally had a chance to run some serious brass through this trimmer this evening.

I did 70 pieces in 10 minutes without breaking a sweat. I took samples of brass every 5 pieces.

I found the cutting was accurate for me. I set the brass length to a slightly longer 1.755". Of my sample pieces they were routinely between 1.755" and 1.753". For me that's excellent for plinking rounds for my AR-15.

The fact that I can process 400+ cases an hour is also a huge bonus!

Man, has this been an excellent purchase so far!
